Overview

CheckMe (“we”, “us”, “our”, or “the App”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application.

Key Principles

CheckMe is designed with privacy-first principles:

All processing is on-device. Your scans, analysis results, and health profile never leave your iPhone
No data is sent to external servers. Everything runs locally using on-device Apple Intelligence
No tracking or analytics. We don’t track your usage, location, or behavior
No advertising. CheckMe contains no ads or third-party advertising networks

What Data We Collect

CheckMe does not collect, store, or transmit any data to remote servers. All data remains on your device:

Scanned images and text: Stored locally on your iPhone using SwiftData
Analysis results: Stored locally after processing
Your health profile: Food allergies, dietary preferences, skin type, health goals — all stored locally only

How Your Data is Used

All information is used exclusively on your device to provide personalized ingredient analysis:

Your health profile is used by Apple Intelligence to analyze ingredients against your specific needs
Scans are processed using on-device optical character recognition (OCR) and Apple’s foundation models
No data is shared with CheckMe, Apple, or any third party

Apple Intelligence

CheckMe uses Apple’s on-device machine learning models (Foundation Models) available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, and later models running iOS 26 or later. These models process ingredient data locally on your device without sending it to Apple’s servers.

Permissions

CheckMe requests the following permissions:

Camera: To capture images of product labels for ingredient scanning
Photo Library: To analyze images from your photo library without needing the camera

These permissions are used solely within the app and no images are sent elsewhere.

Data Deletion

Since all your data is stored locally on your iPhone:

To delete your data: Simply delete the CheckMe app. All your scans, analysis, and profile information will be permanently removed from your device
Backup: If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, backup software may include CheckMe data

Third-Party Services

CheckMe does not use any third-party analytics, crash reporting, or data collection services. We don’t integrate with external services that would access your data.

Changes to This Policy
